I have people coming to me who’ve not chosen past mentors effectively
Whether it’s me or someone else, you need to get somebody to guide you who has the following attributes.
1. They don’t have fancy Instagrams, flashy cars or say they’re really successful when they don’t actually have a track record beyond maybe 1 or 2 years.
There is a difference between saying you’ve done it and actually doing it, so do your research and make sure they are ahead of the game. They should be familiar with where the world is going and they’re already experimenting with decentralized platforms.
2. They are where you want to be and they’ve done what you want to do. What I mean by this is they use the same social media platforms you want to use to generate your leads, and they’re embodying the same protocols and frameworks.
3. They don’t have to be in the same industry, but they have been booming online in various different ways. They should be experienced and diverse, and have tasted the bitter sweetness of the dark night of the soul of entrepreneurship. They know what it’s like to struggle and have experienced this in different capacities.
4. Make sure they’ve helped a multitude of people who’ve had the same results that you want, and you need evidence beyond just a couple of clients they talk about in their stories.
The coaching space is a multi-billion dollar industry and it will continue to rise. However, those who will thrive during this time are those who are innovators, pioneers who are experienced and have weathered many storms before.
